What is FreeLance Companion?

FreeLance Companion is a free web application designed for freelancers and self-employed workers. It centralises the management of your clients, invoices, expenses, and tax deadlines in one place.

What can the application do?

  • Manage your clients and their billing history
  • Create, send and track your invoices
  • Record your professional expenses
  • Track your income / expense balance
  • Manage tax deadlines (social contributions, VAT, corporate tax…)
  • View multi-year statistics on your activity
  • Export your data in JSON format
  • Configure your e-invoicing profile (e-facturation)

Who is FreeLance Companion for?

The application is designed for independent workers: freelancers, consultants, developers, designers, tradespeople… Anyone who invoices clients and needs to manage their professional finances.

Is my data secure?

Your data is stored on a secure server and accessible only by you. It is never sold or shared with third parties. You can export or delete it at any time from the settings.

Is FreeLance Companion free?

FreeLance Companion offers a Free plan (€0) covering all core features, and a Pro plan giving access to e-invoicing (Factur-X, PDP transmission, legal archiving). See the "Pro Plan (Premium)" chapter for more details.

How do I create an account?

  1. Click “Create an account” on the login page.
  2. Enter your email address (step 1) and click “Continue”.
  3. Enter your first name, last name and a password (min. 8 characters).
  4. Accept the privacy policy.
  5. Click “Create an account”.
  6. Check your inbox and click the confirmation link.

I didn't receive the verification email

Check your spam or junk folder. If you still can't find it, go back to the login page and click "Resend confirmation email".

How do I log in?

On the login page, enter your email and password then click "Log in". Your session is kept until you manually log out.

I forgot my password

  1. Click "Forgot password?" on the login page.
  2. Enter your email address.
  3. Check your inbox and click the reset link.
  4. Choose a new password and confirm it.

How do I log out?

At the bottom of the left navigation sidebar, click the "Logout" button.

How do I update my name or email?

  1. Go to Settings → Account tab.
  2. In the "Personal information" section, update your first name, last name and/or email address.
  3. Click "Save changes".

How do I enable or disable email alerts for overdue deadlines?

Go to Settings → Account tab. In the "Personal information" section, toggle the "Receive email alerts for overdue tax deadlines" switch. Click "Save changes". When enabled, you receive a daily summary email listing any tax deadlines (VAT, URSSAF, income tax…) that are past due and not yet declared or paid.
